IS IT FAR-RIGHT TO BE IGNORED? MUG

IS IT FAR-RIGHT TO BE IGNORED? — MUG

A provocative Finch Files statement mug asking IS IT FAR-RIGHT TO BE IGNORED? — a satire about political promises, changing governments and the frustration felt when voters believe Westminster is talking without listening.

The design contrasts political rhetoric with a decidedly unimpressed public. “Stop the Boats” was one of Rishi Sunak’s five stated priorities in 2023, while Labour subsequently adopted its own emphasis on “smashing the gangs” behind small-boat crossings.

Above the public sit caricatured politicians laughing around the Westminster table, surrounded by exaggerated slogans and political talking points. Below them, ordinary people look thoroughly fed up. The caricature deliberately asks whether changing the words at the top necessarily means that people at the bottom feel any more heard.

The Finch Files asks the underlying question: when governments change, slogans change and policies change, what happens when members of the public still believe nobody is listening to them?
